Upstate Capital Association of New York Announces Tim Dean as Executive Peer Group Facilitator

New Paltz, NY – Tim Dean, retired CEO of Poughkeepsie-based insurance company, Marshall & Sterling, will begin facilitating Upstate Capital’s Executive Peer Group effective January 1, 2024. 

Tim Dean is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a BA in Communication. At the end of 2022, he retired after a 34-year career at Marshall & Sterling, a 100% employee-owned firm with 575 employees, 30 offices, and over $100,000,000 in annual revenues. He continues as their Board Chairperson. Tim currently also serves as the Board Chair of the Dutchess County Industrial Development Agency, a Board Member of Vassar Brothers Hospital, a Board Member of the Nuvance Insurance Company, and a Board Member of Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress.

Upstate Capital’s Executive Peer Group brings together a diverse group of leaders of organizations in the Hudson Valley to build a trusted group of advisors with one another. The guidelines for members are CEOs or other C-level leaders of companies with at least $1MM in revenue. Membership is by invitation.
