New Paltz, NY – Upstate Capital Association of New York named Upstate New York’s most interesting deals and most active dealmakers across venture capital, private equity, and M&A at the 8th Annual Awards Celebration at the Harro East Ballroom on December 6, 2023.
This year’s Annual Awards winners are:
- 8B Investments (Ithaca, NY) – venture investment of the year
- Dimensional Energy (Ithaca New York) – growth equity deal of the year
- Rochester Midland (Rochester, NY) – private equity deal of the year
- Todd Tigdwell (Nixon Peabody) – dealmaker of the year
- Tony Collins (Clarkson University) – lifetime achievement
Over 50 nominations were received through individual submissions and deal flow screening from the past 12 months. Finalists were selected by the Upstate Capital Board of Directors. The board considered the size of the transaction, geographic location of the company, capital provider and transaction professionals involved from the Upstate Capital membership, and impact on the local community and regional ecosystem.

Todd Tidgewell, winner of this year’s Dealmaker of the Year Award said, “I am extremely flattered to be recognized as a key professional driving dealflow in Upstate New York. Upstate Capital also celebrated its 20th anniversary of connecting the ecosystem in Upstate New York.
