RECAP: 3RD ANNUAL AWARDS CELEBRATION

Last week, entrepreneurs, investors, business leaders and dealmakers from across Upstate New York gathered to celebrate the investment ecosystem at Upstate Capital’s Annual Awards Celebration in Rochester, NY.

 
The event started at the Winners Showcase, highlighting startup companies who have won at least one of the business plan competitions in New York, like 43North and the Fuzehub Commercialization Competition.

The program began with Pravina Raghavan addressing the audience. Pravina is the Executive Vice President at Empire State Development Division of Small Business and Technology Development. She spoke about the value of organizations small and large to bring capital investment to the region.

The Upstate Capital Awards Celebration is designed to highlight the achievements of companies and individuals within the Upstate New York investment ecosystem. Over 100 the most interesting deals and most active dealmakers across New York State in seed, venture, private equity and corporate finance were nominated.

This year’s winner of Early Stage Dealmaker of the Year is Lindsay Karas Stencel of Launch NY.

The winner of Middle Market Dealmaker of the Year is Michael McMahon of KeyBank.

The winner of Transaction Professional of the Year is Mario Fallone of Harter Secrest & Emery.

Congratulations to Gary Hull, the winner of the inaugural Upstate Capital Lifetime Achievement Award.

Congratulations to the winner of the charity raffle: Sherry Handel, the Deputy Director and CFO of Wayne County Economic Development and Planning. A $100 donation was name in her name to the Wayne County Humane Society.
