Meet Christina Orsi, Associate Vice President, Economic Development at the University at Buffalo
![]() | Christina leads UB’s Business & Entrepreneur Partnerships, connecting business innovators with the expertise, spaces, equipment and resources to spur innovation, solve challenges, and spark growth. “We help the innovators, the disruptors, and the big-thinkers find solutions through a strategic, comprehensive partnership that complements their team.” Christina finds pride in her work through the social and economic impact by helping innovators move from an idea to a product. “For example, we are supporting collaboration among UB researchers, entrepreneurs and industry partners on developing new diagnostics for rare diseases, non-addictive method of treating acute pain, new methods of interactive teaching and new heat reducing light-weight wearable materials, to name a few. The innovation happening here every day is incredible and we get to help it translate into impactful products and services.” |
Christina became a member of Upstate Capital to help facilitate those connections. According to her, “Upstate Capital is an important part of building a thriving innovation economy by helping to connect investors, industry and innovators.”
Christina is a mom of three young boys, and when she’s not working, most of her time is spent at basketball, soccer and lacrosse games in Ellicottville, NY, her hometown. Her hobbies include skiing and reading historical fiction.
