On June 6, ten Upstate New York startup companies traveled to New York City to pitch to investors. Upstate Capital members joined investors and entrepreneurs from across New York at Alliance Bernstein’s office in Manhattan.
After the structured networking, general networking opened up to the group before the program began. Guests were welcomed to the program by Upstate Capital board member Brian Model. Brian is a Managing Partner at NYC-based Stonehenge Growth Equity Partners. He introduced first-time guests to Upstate Capital and its mission: to increase access to capital for companies and deal flow for investors at all stages of company development – for startups with high growth potential and for established companies.
To help in that mission, Upstate Capital partnered with Alliance Bernstein to host this event. Brian introduced Kim Mustin to talk about what she and Alliance Bernstein do. Kim Mustin is a Managing Director at Bernstein Private Wealth Management and focuses on helping like-minded individuals manage and grow their wealth through holistic planning.
Finally, guests watched ten startups based in Upstate New York pitch. The pitching companies included Cally, 3D Usher, HiOperator, Our.News, OpConnect, Inc, Shrubbucket, EMPEQ, Moxi Platform and Gryt Health. They represented Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Ithaca and the Capital Region.
