Upstate Capital connects the investment community across New York. Each year, we recognize people and transactions that impact Upstate New York. These awards highlight the investment transactions and individuals that make up our thriving investment ecosystem in the region.
This year, we have six awards:
- Angel/seed investment
- Venture/growth investment
- PE investment
- M&A transaction
- Dealmaker of the year
- Lifetime Achievement Award
Investment of the Year: Criteria for winning include impact on local and regional investment ecosystem, impact on local community, and size and scope of work/transaction.
Dealmaker of the Year: Awarded to an individual (private equity/debt investor, M&A advisor, commercial banker, attorney, accountant, investment banker, consultant) who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to their work and significantly impacted their colleagues and community through a particular transaction.
Lifetime Achievement Award: To a person who has had a significant impact on the investment ecosystem over several years. Nominees will be nearing the end of his/her career, already retired or the award may be given in memoriam. This award recognizes people who have had a long-lasting impact on the investment & entrepreneurial ecosystem over many years.
Winners are selected by the Event Committee, comprised of members of the Upstate Capital Board of Directors. Winners will be announced at our Annual Awards Celebration on December 8, 2021 in Rochester and online.
